lcd 2x16 display

I'm trying to display the date and the time on a 2x16 lcd display, but the problem is when for example the time is 08:05 it only display 8: 5. What is wrong i am doing? Here the part of the code i wrote to display the time:

lcd_gotoxy(1,1);
printf(lcd_putc,"%2i/%2i/%2i  %2i:%2i",day,month,year,h,m);

All the variables are declared as integer.

Look in a C textbook.....

What is the difference between %2i, and %02i for printf formatting?.
