Print parts of a string

hey guys,

how do i print only part of a string?

using:
Code:
printf(lcd_putc,"%s",Receive_String);


The string is lets say 10 chars long,

id like to print only chars 6,7 &8 for example...
but later i might want to print 3,4 &5...

So i understand there is no predefined command..right?

I was trying to avoid using a temp array for storage...
