Sending/Receiving SMS from mobile to GSM as memo *** Locked
PostPosted: Wed Nov 28, 2012 7:15 am     Reply with quote

Is it possible to program a GSM Modem to save all the messages it received as a memo or reminder note? Example, I am going to have an event next week and then I will text a message to the GSM Modem through my phone about the event. And then when the modem received it, it will saved the message to the PC as a note and when the event is about to come, the Modem will send a message on my phone to remind me about the event.
Anyone help me please?

Hi,

Yes, connected to a suitable microcontroller, such as a PIC, it's possible to do what you want.

Is this a CCS 'C' related question, or a general information question about GSM modems?

Yes it is possible. However, as this is your first message here, I must assume you have next to zero PIC knowledge let alone CCS C.Given your timeframe of 1 week, you will NOT be able to create the code although the hardware is fairly easy. GSM modem-PIC-Vinculum-flashdrive being the fastest set of devices.

This forum is for users to help and exchange CCS C code techniques so your post may be 'locked' by the moderator as being 'off topic'.

I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with PIC. I'm just a newbie in IT. Actually that's my thesis.

Hi,

Sorry, you are in the wrong place then. This is a user forum devoted to supporting the CCS 'C' compiler for PIC microcontrollers. Off-topic, general purpose questions, such as yours, are forbidden here.

Good luck!
