Wireless Temperature Sensor
PostPosted: Thu Nov 08, 2012 8:51 am     Reply with quote

Height of laziness I know but I am looking for a wireless temperature sensor that I can interface to a pic micro controller.
I have googled it and am not having any joy in finding one, so thought I would ask here. Does any one know of one or can recommend one?

Many thanks

Most such sensors are designed to interface to networks that are going to involve a _lot_ of work at the PIC end. Simplest by far would be a single voltage output temperature IC, feeding into one of the Xbee modules with an ADC.
I can't think of any 'off the shelf' solution that will come close in terms of ease of use at the PIC end.
Somebody will now post such a solution.... Smile

You might try RF digital ( RFD21380) or similar. It's a complete PIC18F44K22 with integrated RF !www.rfdigital.com. I think it's about $60,1" square,6ADC,uart,I2C,SPI,etc.
They also sell 'barebones' wireless modules but I like the 'prebuilt' solution. While it costs more..it's an instant solution.
btw super low power consumption too!!
