CCS IDE on windows 7 64 bit
PostPosted: Tue Oct 23, 2012 4:17 am     Reply with quote

Hello,
I'm not sure if this is the place to ask this but has anybody been having problems running the CCS IDE and debugger (ICD_U40 and U64) on a windows 7 64bit system.

Compiler and IDE version is 4.130. I get various errors ranging from cannot create a break point to illegal access errors after which I have to shut down the IDE and start again.
It is turning into a right royal pain.

Any suggestions?

cheers Evil or Very Mad Sandy

If you have W7 Pro or Ultimate, you could load the XP emulation and run in this.
Have had no trouble running the basic application on a 64bit system, which suggests the problem is probably with the 64bit drivers for the debugger.
There was a similar post a while back:

Several people seem to be having problems with the ICD-U40, and W64, without the CCS IDE in the equation at all....

This probably won't be extremely helpful, but I have CCS PCWHD running on 2 separate windows 7 machines (64bit). I previous had it running on both Vista Home and Vista Business (both 64bit). The same goes for ICD-U40, ICD-U64, and CCS Load.

I didn't have to do anything special. I just snagged the executables and USB drivers from the downloads page and installed them.

One thing you can try is temporarily setting yourself to administrator and seeing if that clears up the issues.
