interrupts on MCP23008
PostPosted: Mon Apr 16, 2012 1:42 pm     Reply with quote

Dear all, regarding the interrupts on MCP23008, do I need to make any pull-ups/pull-down resistors because interrupts are working only on power-up.

Thanks

The MCP23008 data sheet says this about the INT pin:
Quote:

INT: Interrupt output.
Can be configured for active-high, active-low or open-drain.

The characteristics of the INT pin are controlled by 2 bits in the IOCON
register in the MCP23008. The default settings are a push-pull output
driver (no pull-up required), and an "active low" interrupt signal (a negative pulse).

dear friends,

I am very sorry to write this but I am really depressed worked long hours to drive the MCP23008 but it was in vain

did someone has at least the driver to configure the MCP2008 as input and send an interrupt to the MCU through INT pin? I read the datasheet several times but still no results! This is not a software simulation but a breadboard simulation with real devices
