General informations about sync a PIC with a video camera

Good evening to everyone,

I would like to gather infos whether it is possible or not to synchronize a camera video acquisition with a PIC. In particular I have developed a data logger using a PIC18F46J50 and i would like to add a camera to take a video of the external environment that can be synchronized to the logging of the datas with the PIC.

I don't have any idea of which camera to use nor if something like this is possible. I would like to have some advices and ask if anyone of you knows if something like this has been done before and maybe could give me some suggestions.
