Can anyone suggest a type of microcontroller that can be used to design hardware that can be interfaced with the software. I have a camera, PC, hardware and output.

PIC16C84

great ,all around choice for beginners and experts alike. easy to learn, only 35 instructions, PCM compiler runs flawlessly.

the 'scope' of your project is not understood,so please explain in detail what you have, what you want and how much time and money you can afford.
