I am using PIC Dem2 plus board with PIC16F877A and a thermocouple to read the temperature which i have dne successfully. Now i need to implement Proportional Integral PI in my coding. How i can do this? Can anyone did this. Can you please send me the code compatiable to my circuitry or control algorithm. thnx

"PID without a PhD" was a classic article from 2000. I happened across it when I had to implement a multi-decade PID control loop (which is beyond the scope of the article). This article introduces and explains the topic in a very readable way, gives examples and pseudo-code snippets to get you going and has tips on tuning/adjusting all forms of digital control loops whether P, PI, PID, PD. It goes a long way to taking the mystery out of these strange controllers:
