PIC and reset problem
PostPosted: Sun Oct 09, 2011 6:20 am     Reply with quote

Hello,

I am using PIC18F4520 and Its datasheet says that oscillator capacitors are 15pF if you use 10 MHZ crystal. But when I used this configuration, pic usually gets reset. I tried to use several capacitors and with 33pF its a bit better now. But its very bad to get reset again and again.

Does anybody have the same problem? How can I make my PIC much more stable?

with kind regars,

Those caps should not affect the reset.
To prove that, just reconfigure to use the internal osc. !
What value of resistor do you have on *MCLR( pin 1).
I use a 10K
Also what fuses are you using?
Is this a PCB or a breadboard ?
High or low humidity ?
