Pulse Signal to binary

Hi there,
I require help to convert pulse signal to binary using PIC18f452... Need some assist with the code and other stuffs to accomplish this. I am new with PIC and programming. Hope someone can assist me. Thanks.

What does your "pulse" signal look like? Does it send data by pulse width? pulse amplitude? pulse frequency?
