Temperature issue 18F97J60
PostPosted: Mon Oct 18, 2010 9:31 am     Reply with quote

All,

I've got a rather busy 18F97J60 that stops running above 65C. Spec is supposed to be 75C but we can't get it there. We initially had a crystal problem, so that has been replaced with a crystal that claims to meet the spec. I've considered running the thing on the internal osc (have had much success with this with the 18F4525 and the 8527) but will ultimately have to run at 25MHz using the crystal due to the Ethernet.

Anyone else have issues with this chip at high temperature?

Why not an oscillator can? I switched to these years ago and have never had an oscillator problem since. I use them in all types of environments including higher temps.
