Help on J1939

Hi, I'm developing a board that reads the data on a J1939 bus ECU.

Anyone have some info about this? I just need some simple example on how to read an ECU message.

I have 2 boards with CAN BUS that talk to each other at 250kbps.

I googled "j1939 PIC C code" and the very first hit(of 1,000s) is Microchip's app note on how to use it with examples.
Might be a good place to start.....
