16f684 generate clock output
PostPosted: Tue Aug 24, 2010 3:37 pm     Reply with quote

I'm trying to output a clock signal from my 16f684 to sync with an IR encoder chip, which has a 16XCLK input pin.

In the datasheet, it lists the correct FUSE as INTOSC, which generates a clock signal on OSC2/CLKOUT pin, but this fuse is not listed in the header file for the PIC and it's not recognized by the compiler. I tried using INTRC, but it's not generating any clock signal.

Compiler V4.03

INTRC is the correct fuse to use the internal oscillator with CLKOUT enabled.

Verify that your programmer is really setting INTRC in the PIC.
Read the PIC with the programmer and look at the Config Bits that
it has been programmed with.

If you can't make it work, post a small test program. Also post your
full compiler version (4 digits: x.xxx).

compiler 4.033

I found the problem, it was a typo that wasn't detected as an error. Thanks for the help!
