Is there a way to Prevent the stupid "Page Expired" that constantly shows up when navigating thru returned search threads?
Perform a Search,
Display Results
Read a thread
Click Back to look at all result threads = PAGE EXPIRED
You then have to hit refresh, then yes on the dialog.
Kind of a pain. This is the only forum that does it to me.

I have seen many forums that do this.
I believe it is to do with the way this version of phpBB handles state ( it might assume that a person only iterates forward in a list )
When you hit refresh - you are actually performing a completely new search ( from phpBB viewpoint ) |

Two things:
From the search, don't read a thread directly. Instead use 'open in new tab' for the thread you want to read. The search page is then still there.
Search using Google, rather than the forum search engine (more powerful, and works better....).

Great advice, I actually started doing that this morning and it works much better. A goggle search explained why phpBB did this and the work arounds. Still not real friendly but much better. |
