18F452 RS232 Stop Bit ?!
PostPosted: Thu May 20, 2010 10:40 am     Reply with quote

Hi Dear Friends!

I have a problem with my RF module.
I can send data from PC to another PC, but I cannot do it with my PIC.

I connected to PIC with my RF module by using 2k and 3k resistor and I take 3v data voltage for my module. And our module needs 1 stop bit for serial comm.

**So how can I use stop bit 1 with 18f 452?

**How can I convert 3v to 5v data voltage level?

**Also is our circuit ok for converting 5v to 3v?

The PIC UART develops one stop bit 'as standard'.
It is impossible to tell whether your resistors would give 5v to 3v conversion, without 'seeing' the circuit, and without details of the impedance being driven, etc. etc...

Best Wishes
