Please my nokia 3310 lcd interfaced with pic18f4550 comes on, but the characters are not stable on the screen, they keep flickering and some times the 3310 lcd doesn't come on at all and other times when it comes on it doesn't last for a minute before it goes off.

I tried changing my crystal oscillator from 8 MHz to 20MHz, but it is still the same, i also tried to increase the 4.7uF capacitor to about 24uF so that it can drive the 3310 lcd well, but the result is still the same.

What could be the cause of this? Could it be a hardware or a software error?
