Hi friends,
I want to make a remote control using PIC mc,
I referred many links and finally I found that,
1. TIMER can be used to generate carrier(40khz).
2. On/off timer can be used to send data.
....whether it works or not.
One more thing. Can I use UART for this ? But CCS doesn't support 14bit uart transmission (I am using RC5).
Anyone can help me.

Rubbish.
CCS hasn't to do with. Neither Microchip nor other uPs are supporting it. If they would, how to generate manchester coded ASK
modulation from the UART output?
Actually, everyone has been able to generate RC5 either completely in software or with timer output + software up to now. |

| Agree with FvM. You would be best to use a modulator/demodulator IR transceiver instead of generating the modulation frequency with the PIC. The data bit times are long enough that you can toggle a port bit to generate data, and input a bit to read data directly from the transceiver. You will want to use a millisecond timer interrupt for a bit time reference. |

But i found a ccs library that can generate signals for RC5 + some other protocols.
I don't know whether it work or not.
But i will try.... |
