Wireless broadband modules. (a bit off topic)
PostPosted: Thu Dec 03, 2009 5:45 am     Reply with quote

Hi,
Has anybody come across any wireless broadband modules with an interface suitable for medium spec PIC ?
All i can find on the net is PCI-Express which i'm sure needs a fancy controller.
We just want to use it for sending data back from on site units.

Thanks,

Jim

This is a little long in the tooth, but I have very good success with this product:

http://www.iosoft.co.uk/wlan2.php

which is a software library for 802.11b WiFi and uses a PCMCIA PRISM 2 card for its WiFi module.

I incorporated it into a product that used an 18F PIC and WiFi.

BTW, if interested, I have about 1500 pieces of a board similar to this as well as 1500 WiFi PCMCIA cards. Good deal to be had.
