rfPIC still viable?
Posted: Wed Dec 02, 2009 9:46 am
I am looking to make a simple RF telemetry link. The rfPIC12F675 looks like it could do the job, but the data sheet on the Microchip website is dated 2003 and still labeled "Preliminary"!
Has this product line been abandoned? Are there newer variants I haven't found? Does anybody use them? _________________ The search for better is endless. Instead simply find very good and get the job done.

They do still make them; yet they do not advertise it much.
Last time I checked with them, they recommended the MRF49XA.

That chip (MRF49XA) only goes to 85C vs. the rfPIC goes to 125C. I wonder if they were having trouble getting good RF performance at high temp and decided to scrap the line? _________________ The search for better is endless. Instead simply find very good and get the job done.
