18f26k20 and icd-u40 compatibility

Hi everyone, I have a board that uses an 18f26k20. However, if I try to use the icd-u40, it can't detect the target but it I use the Microchip mplab icd2, it runs perfectly well. My guess is that I needed to upgrade the firmware of the icd-u40 since maybe it can't recognize the newer 18f26k20 chip. But I already clicked the "update icd firmware" that is in the GUI of icd-u40. But it can't still seem to work. Can anybody help me? Thanks.
