who uses (the/an/which) ICD ??

A ?? for the well seasoned PIC programmers on the board -

WHO uses an ICD for midrange designs and WHY ?

Sure, I could do ICD - but has always seemed like a choice where i suspected a pic functional problem - otherwise I have never yet been in a situation where I felt that an ICD somehow

1- was worth the time && effort to implement in the design

2-was a better debugger than me taking the time to be sure my own understanding of the combination of the hardware I designed && the code I wrote was delivering the performance I desire. ( when maybe it's NOT - right out of the gate).


I see results and problems RE:ICD on the board often enough and wonder
about other's experiences to know where ICD WAS worth the effort VS the potential ambiguity of the results that adding ICD support, offers.

Other times, it seems like ICD is just one more source of hassle.
(Ditto every PIC simulator ever mentioned.)

In my case, I am not seeing the benefit/hassle ratio of using ICD as
evaluating to a positive number.
