PIC12F6/629 with RS-485
PostPosted: Thu Jul 26, 2012 2:26 pm     Reply with quote

Hello... I'm new in this forum and can't find an information that help me...

I'm trying to do something to remote control an "LED" and to receive a command from a pressed button. I need it in a 'network' with about 10 or more device so RS-232 don't work.

Cause of the low complexity of the device, I wanna know if is it possible to implement this network with the 12F629 and RS-485.

the simple answer is "yes".

the RS485 driver would hook up to the TX/RX pins of the PIC just like RS232 would except the signalling is different.

There is where you read the CCS help on the #use RS232 command and then you carefully go read up on suitable RS485 driver.

Cheers,

-Ben
