is it possible to make a pic communicate to an allen bradley plc with dh485 or rs232c? any info will help.

Yes, you can use either protocol but you will need the command set. You use a simple RS232 (null modem) to communicate with SLCs and PLC 5s. Be aware it depends on the configuration loaded (the configuration can disable the RS232 port) so be aware!

With the proper cable and PLC programming, for RS232 all you need to use is the internal PIC UART at the proper speed and bit format.
