Need some design advice on 16F73 at 3.3v
PostPosted: Thu Jan 15, 2009 11:01 am     Reply with quote

Hi All,

I just completed a new design using the 16F73 and an Xbee Pro module. The design is all 3.3V due to the Xbee requirements, and this is the first time I've used 3.3V in a design. I've got several prototype boards now, and just learned that the F73 is not supported at 3.3V using the ICD-U40 programmer. I'm trying to figure out the best way out of this problem to get some utility from the prototypes that are already made. Ultimately, I guess I need a new PIC that is supported at 3.3V with the ICD. suggestions??

Check your datasheet. The 16F73 runs at between 2.5 and 6 volt, as do most PICs.

He's talking about this page, regarding 3.3v support by the ICD-U40:

Hi,

It looks like the 16F876A is pin-compatible and is suported at 3.3V by the ICD. Could this be a possible solution for you?
