Read Serial Number ID from Flash
PostPosted: Thu Jul 23, 2009 11:52 am     Reply with quote

Hi

How can I read a serial number, that is stored in Flash, and copy it to RAM memory? Is it possible to read flash in PIC 16 series?

In compiler, how can I write the serial number to PIC`s flash?

Thanks

It's possible for some of them, but not all. Look in the data sheet
to see if it has a section on Flash Program Memory.

Do you need to serialize a large number of PICs ? If you use a #rom
statement, then you need edit the source file and re-compile the program
for each serial number. That's possible to do (I've done it), but it's
time consuming.

CCS has a #serialize command for use with their ICD programmer.
It's in the manual.
