ADC Sampling
PostPosted: Tue Jul 08, 2008 6:03 pm     Reply with quote

Im using a PIC18F25j10, if that is relevant.

Im using the PIC to read 4 voltages off of a quad photodiode. Is it possible to sample and hold all 4 voltages simultaneously, and then convert them one at a time?

I suspect that Ill need an external quad sample and hold ic, but wondered if this was possible with just a PIC.

All the PICs that I am aware of have a MUX feeding a single A/D, so you can not simultaneously sample 4 inputs. You have to select an input, wait a settling time, then read the A/D, then select the next input.
