switching between CAN low-speed and high-speed interface
PostPosted: Sat May 24, 2008 6:24 am     Reply with quote

Hello, I would like to build an interface for both low/high speed CAN bus. Thus, I need to switch between high-spd MCP2551 and low-spd TJA1054. Can I just turn on one of the interfaces when I want to use it? For instance, using a FET transistor to supply VDD to one of them.

Is the MAX3054 interchangeable with TJA1054? I mean MAX3054 is said to be fault-tolerant, and the TJA1054 is low-speed. Does it mean fault-tolerant=low-speed? I reckon they are interchangeable.

Any thoughts on it, please?
have a nice weekend,
