PWM set out
PostPosted: Fri Mar 21, 2008 11:48 am     Reply with quote

Hi,
just a little of programing but to a hardware question.
the sample hardware from microchip on the PWM shows PWM pin to a 1K resistor with a .1uf cap to ground to get a average voltage out.
is it possible to have the 1K resistor at 5V to PWM pin with the cap PWM pin to ground to get a average 0-5V output.

I am using a 3.3V micro that has a 5V tolerant pin. Confused

It should be OK since the µC is 5V tolerant.
But I'd better had a transistor...

Matro.

I was thinking the same, should be OK, and yes it will be going via a transistor.
Has anyone do this this way before. Confused
