Microchip CAN lin 2 Development board with CCS soft???????
PostPosted: Tue Feb 19, 2008 3:17 am     Reply with quote

Hi all

I've been developing an advanced piece of equipment for work, now i need to dump roughly 42 pics onto a can bus, ive never worked with can bus before, ive got a CAN LIN 2 microchip development board on hand.

ive been trying all sorts of example progs etc etc but i cant seem to get these 2 puppies to comm. on this development board, theres two 18F458's with 25Mhz cermaic resonators each. the two pics are connected to each other via a set of MCP2551's, theres also a LIN bus slave on it but im not worried about that.

wat i want to do is get a can bus going between these 2 pics and then experiment and move to 18f4680's and eventually do all 42.

i love CCS, thats wat im using, anyone know if its possible to get CCS to work with these puppies???????

many thanks

OK no problem guys, figured out the problem...

#define CAN_USE_EXTENDED_ID TRUE

this define needs to be set TRUE for 18F4680's!!!!
well thats at least wat i've found.
CAN works no problems.
