Learning Ethernet from CCS development kit?
PostPosted: Thu Jan 24, 2008 12:42 pm     Reply with quote

For years I have been developing products with CCS C and RS232 and RS485 I/O. But RS232 is fading fast, and the up and coming industrial I/O seems to be Ethernet. Has anyone played with the CCS Embedded Ethernet Development Kit? It looks like a good place to start learning, but I would like to hear from someone who has it.
I don't just want to add an Ethernet band-aid to existing RS232 products. I want to understand how Ethernet itself works in a uC environment.

I had started to however have selected to wait until the new Ethernet chip comes out (100mg SPI interface Ethernet) as well the new 24F part with inbuilt Ethernet.

I have even review and worked on the USB interface as well, I will more than likely wait until this is within the 24F micro that can be a host as well.
