UART pin mapping or SW UART
PostPosted: Fri Jan 11, 2008 8:31 pm     Reply with quote

Need to comm between PC and multiple PICs using a PIC based comm hub, SPI is in use and not available.

With only UART available I see my options as SW UART w/18f or pin mapping using 24fj.

Id prefer to use the 24fj w/pin mapping, but only have PCWH. I wouldnt mind paying the additional $ to upgrade to PCWD, but Ive read that there are alot bugs/problems w/this compiler.

On the other hand I have no exp w/SW UART and unsure if I could comm w/3-4 pics in real time w/o loss of data.

Basically Im using VB.NET to monitor the output of analyzers while alos loading varialbe data to calibrate the analyzer.

Any insights would be appreciated.
