[SOLVED] FT800 graphics chip
PostPosted: Sat Oct 19, 2013 10:12 am     Reply with quote

Hi All

Anybody got any experience with the FT800 chip from FTDI. I got it to work nicely and display using display lists.
When using the Co-processor commands I run into problems.

I can send a text message to the screen, but it will only display if I send a command to draw a SPINNER as well. If I tried to send 2 text messages all fails.

The datasheet is a bummer from FTDI, you have to get the workings from studying the code. So if there are some better documentation I would gladly like to know.

Regards

Downloaded amother sample application from FTDI for the arduino and port it. Seems to work now.

Hello,
I would also like to use the ft800 chip controlled by PIC.
With the arduino board works fine but I would like to use the pic, you've done something?

Afraid not much more than displaying some graphics and text. Still need a lot more work to be of much use , like updating only a part of the screen. I started playing with the chip when I had some idle time, but got caught up in work again, so on ice for now.

Regards
