implementing file system on 24LCxxx EEPROMS

Has anyone come across some sort of "virtual" file system for use with 24LCxxx eeproms ? For example, the 24LC512 has 512 page each of 128 bytes. There must be some efficient mechanism for handling files using some form of file/page allocation table.
