SD cards reliability wtih FAT
PostPosted: Tue Oct 02, 2007 4:10 pm     Reply with quote

Hello World,
is there anybody who tested the SD card reliability.

The main problem with datalogging and using the FAT system is:
in the case when the data is written to single file (maybe text file), every sector written to file must be write to FAT table also, and if it is single file then info about file is writen to FAT in same sector.
SD card is Flash memory, and how many writings to same sector is possible.
I have destroyed some SD cards from different manufacturers, due to writing to same sector on FAT ->I thinking.

Julius
