18F458 CAN question

Hi I'm pretty new to programming pics so apologies if this post is a bit basic but I'm wondering if you can clear something up for me. I understand that the PIC 18F458 has a CAN module on board. I need to use CAN to communicate with a Maxon motor controller and it is unclear to me whether the 18f458 has all the necessary 'kit' already on board to communicate with the controller or whether I need another 'CAN driver' chip between the two?

You need a CAN bus transceiver for each node (ie, each 18F458), such
as the MCP2551. You also need a termination resistor at each node.
