CAN wake-up (solved)

The ECAN module has to be in disable mode before issuing the sleep command or the PIC will not wake up.

Has anybody seen this in the datasheet? Did I miss something that significant or is page 325 of the 4685 datasheet that vague?

hope this saves somebody the few hours i spent working this one.

The data sheet says this, in the section on CAN bus registers:

Note 1: To achieve maximum power saving and/or able to
wake-up on CAN bus activity, switch CAN module in Disable mode
before putting device to Sleep.
