pic downloader + in-circuit serial programming

hi all
i am using pic16f877A and a graphic LCD with t6963 controller

i am getting my programme running fine and i dumped the hex file using programmer ...
i am also getting printf function on PC with serial in/out monitior utility
now the problem is that i want to use incircuit serial programming as i cannot get take out pic all the time
i have picdownloader but unable to make it work can any one help me out in this

Greetings rblue,

It is unclear from your posting how you are loading the software presently. I would assume you are programming the pic14F877A using a device programmer. There is no difference between using the ICSP and a device programmer other than the ICSP allows debug capabilities.

It sounds like you would like to program serially over RS232. If this is the case, look at the bootloader examples provided with the CCS examples. Also, search for bootloader in the forum for common questions. There are other bootloaders mentioned in the forum and available for the pic.
