Understanding RS 485 terms..
PostPosted: Fri Mar 02, 2007 10:15 pm     Reply with quote

Hi,

I have configured a PIC based system using RS 485 network, I have adapted the following project.....please see the link

http://users.skynet.be/DCI_Site/dcibus_e.html

I have also made the RS 232 to RS 485 converter, the connections scheme is also given in the link above.

The system works well except that the PICs do not communicate when the RTS pin on the converter is low.

Kindly explain how I can make the PICs work on a standalone basis ??

It is essential that my system works standalone.

thanks
arunb
