I am working on a project which implements this.
In my original project, I only implemented the UK date algorithms, as the unit is generally unattended.
If you want it to be accurate you need some method of programming the locality, as there are many different dates at which the switch-over occurs. You also need to handle the difference between switching forward or backwards, depending on the hemisphere.
In my current project (a re-issue of the old one), I am just settling on fixed dates to change forward or backwards, to avoid the operators needing to specifically program it, apart from the hemisphere. Mine is an industrial counter though, stuck away in a back room which doesn't matter if the change over is a couple of weeks out. |
