Internal OSC. and RS-232...??
PostPosted: Fri Jan 12, 2007 3:09 pm     Reply with quote

Hi All,

Is the 8 MHz internal oscillator in the PIC16F688 good enough for stable RS-232 at 9600 baud, or am i asking for trouble?

Depends on your temperature range.
The internal oscillator, is 'comfortably' good enough on these chips, for all useable supplies, over the range 0C to 85C. However if your enviroment goes below 0C, there is a good chance of it moving outside the 'comfortable' zone.

Best Wishes
