PIC 18f452..........using timer ?????

1. Write a program that samples PIN_A0, which is connected to the potentiometer on the PIC Microcontroller target board, using the 8-bit A/D converter (default). Verify that your program is indicating the correct result for the sample you have measured using a multimeter. Sample several values in the range [0 – 5] Volts and plot the error in percent versus voltage level. List possible reasons for any discrepancies.

2. Use one of the internal timers on your PIC Microcontroller to time the above conversion. Perform ten (10) conversions and then divide the summed result to find the average time required for one A/D conversion. Do not include the time necessary to set up the A/D converter. Feel free to confirm your calculation by using an external measurement device, such as an oscilloscope.

please tell me how to use the timer ?
i always get 0 seconds.....
how to reduce my time to micro seconds?????

Sounds suspiciously like a homework problem...

Post your code and the forum readers will probably help you through the problem, but do not expect the forum readers to merely answer your homework. Where would the fun be in that?
