EEPROM Data protection (18F2525)
PostPosted: Wed Dec 13, 2006 7:50 pm     Reply with quote

Hi All,
I'm presently working on a project that will have to store and handle secure authentication keys in the form of 8byte numbers. My thinking is to store the keys in eeprom memory and enable data protection in the configuration to prevent attempts to read the keys externally.

I'm interested to hear other experiences and advice as to how secure and effective are the data protection features on this processor.

I've read all the microchip datasheets etc, however I suspect Microchips literature will be biased and they're only going to tell you what you want to hear. -Thanks
