Timeout error using SIOW.exe bootloader
PostPosted: Tue Aug 22, 2006 6:05 am     Reply with quote

We are using PIC 16F877A. Is it necessary to pull down the B5 pin all the time during the programming through bootloader. During programming when is to reset the controller?

We tried to download our own HEX file after having downloaded the "ex_bootloader.c" through the external programmer in the controller (PIC 16F877A). But we got "timeout error" when we tried to download our own code through SIOW.exe.

What could be the problem with our controller or settings?

Many times best regards;

pin only has to be in the correct state when it starts

there is an if statement right at the beginning which chooses whether to use the bootloader or run the normal program
