Is it possible to program/debug the PIC18LF4550 running at 3.3V (battery+DC/DC) with teh ICD2 ?

Is the config bits of the PIC18LF4550 the same as the PIC18F4550 ? Can I program the same code in both MCUs without any changes ?

I don't for certain that you can do it with that PIC because I haven't
tried it. But you can probably do it. I have used ICD2 to program
the 18LF452 and 18LF458 on boards running at +3.3v. We programmed
several hundred boards. I didn't try debugging. The target board
needs to be running under its own power. You're using a battery
with a DC-to-DC converter and that's what I used too.

You need to make sure that the ICD2 is configured in MPLAB so that
it knows the board is supplying its own power. If you go to the
Programmer menu and select Settings, and in the pop-up window,
select the Power tab, you'll see a checkbox for Power target circuit
from MPLAB ICD2 (5v Vdd). Make sure that box is un-checked.
