MachX 12F629 and 675 calibration
PostPosted: Sat Oct 29, 2005 1:34 am     Reply with quote

How acurate is the MachX calibration value and why does it slightly differ from the factory setting? My scope resolutions isn't high enough to distinguish the difference. My application is a infrared transciver so both setting "work" but I would like to know.

Calibration values for good timing accuracy, must be saved. MachX, has the ability to generate a timing value, for a chip were this has been lost, by testing different values into the chip, and seeing how the timing runs. The value should be 'close' to the value read from the chip, but may differ a little, for a number of reasons. Temperature. Voltage. Inaccuracies in the programmer clock. The relatively short 'test' period. etc.. etc.. It should though be close, and if it differs by a lot, then you should be looking for a 'reason'.

Best Wishes
