Is PICmicro 2840 Development board compatible w/ Mach X ISD?
PostPosted: Tue Oct 18, 2005 6:41 pm     Reply with quote

I've got a PICmicro 2840 prototyping board that has an RJ-11 connector that looks like it has the same pinout as the CCS Mach X ISD.

Has anyone used this connector for ISP/ISD?

Regards....Harry

If it is wired like this,... page 20

Then its an ICD port and can be used for programming and debugging.

It looks to me that it's wired exactly like that. Here's a data sheet, with pinouts of the connector, for the programmer to be used with that board, an ISP-PRO Programmer.

http://www.basicmicro.com/downloads/docs/isppro.pdf

They both look identical to me. However when I hook up the Mach X to try to program or debug a 16F877 the Mach X doesn't see the uC. When I put the uC onto the Mach X Ziff socket it programs as expected.

Can anybody offer any insight into whats going on here? HVW has these boards on sale for $47.96...it would be nice if they could be hooked up to the Mach X directly.

Thanks....Harry
