How to print non-Roman characters to LCD |

Does CCS support Chinese (or other) characters? When I copy and paste my characters from Word I get "????".
And if there is a method to get a LCD to print in Chinese, what is it? I'm using NJStar software (but would try something else) to get the characters.
Thanks-

If you're talking about a normal Hitachi 44780 compliant character LCD, no there is no support for Chinese characters. There are some Japanese characters built in to its character generator ROM, however.
It's possible to create your own characters on the Hitachi compliant LCDs, but only 8 custom characters may be displayed at any one time. This probably won't work for you.
The ugly answer (ugly because it involves the most work) is to get a graphical LCD, and draw/create each character you need. |

I would think you could also find a Hitachi 44780 "type" of LCD that has all the Chinese char in its ROM.
Try goggle "Hitachi 44780 Chinese"
and try ST7920 |
