Hi-
If I have two PICs that communicate with eachother can I use 1 oscillator for both (since both want to have the same clock rate)?
Thanks-

Yeah, you can. You would set your #fuse settings so that you can send CLKOUT from one of the PICs, and feed this to your single oscillator input on the other PIC.

What kind of communication do you want to do? You dont need the same clock rate if it was SPI, I2C, nor UART.

Or you could simply have one clock oscillator feed both PIC's OSC1/CLKI and set your #fuses to reflect the proper clock source (EC_IO as an example).

Hi-
Thanks for replies.
I had thought to save space and parts to use just one oscillator for two PICs. I ran out of processing space on the 16C67 and wanted to link to a 16C766. Since I can use a 20mHz clk with both.
