What is Microwire?

Sorry if the question sounds stupid. But what is the relationship between the USB protocol and Microwire?

Nothing whatsoever....
They are completely unconnected systems. MicroWire, is a similar interface to I2C, but from National Semiconductor, rather than Phillips. It is designed for intercommunication between chips, at the board level. USB, is a potentially much higher speed interface, with a totally distinct protocol, designed for intercommunication between computers, and a range of peripheral devices.

I think he probably meant to ask about Firewire, not Microwire...In this case, here is a comparison:
